The long-running illegal tree-felling case involving the cutting of valuable rosewood trees from revenue-patta land in Muttil South continues to remain under legal scrutiny. The case has attracted attention because of concerns over the unauthorized removal of protected and commercially valuable trees.

As the proceedings continue, one of the main accused recently appeared before the Chottanikkara Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. The court proceedings form part of the ongoing legal process, while authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the felling, transportation and ownership of the timber.

The case has also highlighted wider concerns about the protection of Wayanad’s forest resources, responsible land management and the need for stronger monitoring to prevent illegal tree-felling. Further developments are expected as the judicial proceedings and related investigations continue.
